Introduction

The UTM Source Blocking feature allows you to block Cash on Delivery (COD) orders based on the utm_source parameter from which the customer arrived on the website or app.

This functionality is particularly useful for preventing COD orders originating from high-risk traffic sources such as unreliable affiliates, low-quality ad networks, or campaigns with high RTO history. By leveraging this feature, you can reduce Return to Origin (RTO) incidents and improve order fulfillment reliability.

How to Enable UTM Source Blocking

Follow the steps below to enable and manage UTM Source Blocking:

1. Navigate to Smart COD Control Settings

Go to: Settings → Smart COD Blocking → UTM Source Blocking

2. Enter the UTM Sources to Block

Enter one or more utm_source values that you want to block. These could be specific campaign sources known to generate low-quality or fraudulent COD orders.

Examples of UTM sources:

  • telegram_ads
  • affiliate_network_7
  • whatsapp_blaster

3. Click ‘Block UTM Sources

Once the sources are entered, click on the Block UTM Sources button. Customers arriving on your website with any of the specified sources in their utm_source parameter will not be able to place COD orders.

4. Unblock UTM Sources

To unblock a UTM source:

  • Enter the source(s) you wish to unblock
  • Click on Unblock UTM Sources

5. View Currently Blocked Sources

Use the Download option on the interface to export and view the list of all UTM sources currently blocked for COD orders.

How It Works

  • The system inspects the utm_source parameter in the customer’s session or landing page URL.
  • If the value matches a blocked source, the COD option is automatically hidden for that session.
  • The customer may still place a prepaid order without restriction.
